Vinay Baijal

Mr. Vinay Baijal is a seasoned financial sector expert with over four decades of experience in banking regulation, policy, and governance. He spent 35 years at the Reserve Bank of India, where he served as Chief General Manager in the Department of Banking Operations and Development (now the Department of Regulation). In this role, he oversaw regulatory frameworks for foreign banks, international banking operations, and anti–money laundering initiatives.

He played a pivotal role in drafting and implementing FEMA, contributed to India’s FATF membership, and represented the country at global financial forums, including the World Bank and IMF.

Post his tenure at the RBI, Mr. Baijal has been a Senior Advisor to BSR & Company (a KPMG network firm), advising on financial sector and regulatory matters. He currently serves on the boards of Aye Finance, Indifi Technologies, and Infinity Fincorp, and has previously been associated with Fincare Small Finance Bank and CRED. His advisory experience also includes engagements with PayPal India, Experian, and other global financial institutions.
